Nailed it once again. We have a term for this abomination in acupuncture called possession. A traumatic incident can take root in one of the yin organs and fester as negative energy. The pericardium is supposed to protect the heart but if the energy gets to the emperor itself, it is indeed a very bad prognosis.

I’m also reminded of the scene from Serial Experiment Lain where Lain approaches the night club shooter and he’s yelling at her, “who the hell do you think you are” and lain replies, “no matter where you go, everyone’s always connected.” We are all one. I can feel the deep ripples of sorrow and also the disappointment and rage, it is all within me too. People can only act like this if they have been terribly hurt in this world and for that I feel sorry but it is no excuse to do something like this.

I worked with a man who could calm anyone down. He was gigantic, almost 7 feet tall. But his voice was low and steady. Patients would yell and spit in his face, he would never react. I once asked him how he could be so calm after being shouted at like that. He said to me, "the way people talk to you for a moment is the way they talk to themselves all day. If you thought it was bad for me, think about how it feels to be him." I do think about what it would be like. I think we'd all benefit from thinking about this so much more often than we do. You're absolutely right - everyone is always connected. Evil is an output, a remainder of system out of balance. The pressure builds and builds until it valves through someone. Instead of realizing how we all created this pressure, we just point at the valve and take solace in the fact that we weren't the ones on either side of that barrel.

Today I was thinking about how someone could harbor so much hate among other things and what I realized and what Julia Kristeva has said before in her work “Powers of Horror” is that hatred never disappoints. That's pretty powerful in itself. And perhaps with less stability more people will end up turning to emotions that shield them from disappointment? A self fulfilling prophecy. I don't know I haven't thought it through thoroughly.
