The workplace you describe sounds perfect for the easy infiltration of AI. Even in its easiest stages … who would know if the information or solutions it provides was wrong?
Boomer/Milleneal is the parent -child relationship. From the perspective of Gen X, this discourse has a family dynamic, the mix of entangled emotions and impulses. The rebellion while adopting the basic sensibilities.
To use a Boomer reference, it's like watching Meathead argue with Archie Bunker.
This is actually an amazing point and one I’m embarrassed to have not considered. There is a familial psychodrama going on here but the problem is that there like…too many generations living under one roof??
I think one thing you do underestimate about these people (who I would just describe as middle managers in general), is they do have a strong competence in making insane things sound reasonable. They have that competence, as well as an absurd tolerance for being phony and dealing with bullshit (if not an actual love of phoniness and bullshit). These two qualities make them very capable at continuing to justify their existence as middle managers, because they don't care about making stuff up (or even realize it) and are also very good at it. Having worked at a large company, I honestly don't see any solution to the problem, other than literally breaking up any institution of over 100 employees.

And that right there is where the RUB is
*standing ovation*

Whatever you need to do.
