Many of us remember and still hold compassion and hope at our center. I’ve always been an edge dweller, a future seer - in my youth I was mocked as a ‘greenie’ but I held the line. Not all of us have succumbed to the madness. You’re not alone.

It’s such a dance of power, that of human desire, politics and control. Competing for it, vying for it, screaming for it, taking it, thrusting it once you have it in the face of ‘other’ yet some of us have always (and will always, I hope) patterned ourselves to the nonhuman natural world where power is a myth, life rules in dynamic flow, and partnership is everything.

May peace find its way into the hearts of man. I’ll be hanging out with a tree and a crow in the meantime.

This was beautiful and comforting, thank you. Sometimes the courage to see what is actually there heals us, other times it shows us things for which we cannot be comforted - especially by those who refuse to look

I have compassion for those who refuse to look, I wonder about the depth of fear inside of them and what brought them to that place. I’m grateful to offer some comfort and I hear you on the discomfort of willful ignorance and active aggression.

What I see is probably best described as ‘madness’ closely followed by projection, addiction and transference of the most vicious and foul kind. When did the hive mind relinquish its agency to zealotry? When did we stop being kind to our neighbors for no other reason than -kindness-? Did the internet birth a billion humans who have not matured beyond the age of 10 such that they throw endless temper tantrums in the face of, well, everything, and never take even a shred of responsibility?

As I write that I wonder if this has always been the pattern of humanity and we are just witnessing its next iteration. Or are we at the threshold of an evolution? Wherever we are as a species I hope we can show up for ourselves, each other, and our beautiful world in some small way, lest the sludge and slime of this vitriol digest us into our own demise...

When did we stop giving people a second chance? Stop responding to the best form of an argument rather than nitpicking the smallest detail? I often think social media is a civilizational filter. That we thought it would end with an asteroid, a mushroom cloud, a plague. But could it be that the real extinction event is finally meeting one another?

Does't really matter, at least to me. In the end I have myself, and nature, and others I love. I will enjoy them as long as I can.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree! This whole desire to ‘cancel’ people and render them eternally condemned is such a dark sickness. May you and all you love be endlessly blessed.

Something is going wrong in our world if I’m making good points
